Hey all. Sorry I haven’t updated in bit. I promise it will be coming soon. Work, school, and schtuff have been pretty busy lately. Soon as I have some time I’ll post some super, RAD-tastical, bodaciously cool stuff. Until then, here are some cool happenings on some other great sites. Ok, so here’s the idea. I’m sure it’s not original, but I think its a cool idea, so I’d like to give it a try. Each designer will post their information as a comment and this list will serve as a contact list, or small community for great design resources.
I’m sure, as a designer, many of you are familiar with MyFont’s site What The Font!. Well, if not, here is a brief overview. Say you are looking at a design but can’t digure out what font is used in it. Enter What The Font! (WTF!). Simply upload the image to WTF! and it will scan the image, ask you for letter recognition, and then suggest a list of fonts that it could be. Usually, it is very good at detecting the font.
Now enter WTF! plus the iPhone. MyFont has created an FREE iPhone app version of WTF!. It does the same great thing as the site, but with the ease of mobility. This is great for spotting designs/fonts in the wild.
Take a picture of the font in question, crop it for better accuracy…
Walk through the letter verification process…
Take a look at the font suggestions…
Choose which font you like and email the font info to yourself or open it up in Safari…
This is a very cool app that will be a great addition to the arsenal of any designer on the move. Go get it here!

I just wanted to post some very inspiring pictures. These breath taking images are proof more that God is such an amazing creator. I hope that we as designers never cease to grasp, though a small fraction, a resemblance of His glory in our own creations. Feel free to comment.
Now go a create something amazing of your own. You have been given such a talent to do so, evident in the very fact that you were wonderfully created.

Have any of you heard of The Vector Lab? Well, I hadn’t until recently. There are tons of free vector sites floating around on the internet, and lets face it, most of them resemble the other stuff that “floats” around. The Vector Lab seems to be a pretty legit place. Cause the free vectors? No! Cause they have cool vector sets for sale? No! (..but they do have some cool ones for sale) Why then? The Vector Lab helps raise money for St. Jude’s Children ‘s Hospital. That’s rad. Click on the images below to download the freebie and then make sure to check out The Vector Lab and help support the little ones.
So AJ at Phire Design created some really cool Photoshop brushes. I like the concept for this set. They are old fairytale images that have been distressed to add a nice, kind of eerie, grunge effect to them. Personally, they remind me of the darkness of some of the old original fairytale stories. Now days the tales have a much happier ending, but that wasn’t always the case. Most fairytale were created to warn, even scare kids into doing good, or obeying their parents. Anyways, no matter what images these brushes conjure up in your creative mind, they are a great addition for all designers. Stop by his site and take sure to leave him a comment. Go get ‘em!
